In Today’s post we will list out 10 steps to naturally cleanse or detox your lungs. Lung cleansing techniques may benefit smokers, people who get regular exposure to air pollution, and those with chronic respiratory conditions.

The idea of cleaning out your lungs might sound very appealing. But if you’re tempted to buy vitamins, teas, or essential oils that say they will “detox” your lungs, Save your money!
Here are 10 steps you can take to keep your lungs as healthy as possible:

No 10: Stop Vaping: Vaping means smoking electronic or e-cigarettes. Vaping is less harmful than smoking, but it’s still not safe! E-cigarettes heat nicotine, flavouring agents and other chemicals to create a water vapor that you inhale. There has also been an outbreak of lung injuries and deaths associated with vaping. This is especially true for vaping products containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). And moreover, Electronic Cigarettes Are Just As Addictive As Traditional Ones.

No. 9: Avoid Passive and Active Smoking: Cigarette smoking is the cause of death for one in every five people in the United States, And this includes passive or second hand smoking. The combination of the smoke coming from the end of a cigarette, plus the smoke that comes out of the smoker’s mouth, contains hundreds of toxic chemicals which can accelerate development of Lung Cancer.

No. 8: Steam Inhalation: Inhaling water vapor opens up the airways and help the lungs drain out mucus and mucus plugs. Steam adds warmth and moisture to the air, which may improve breathing and help loosen mucus inside the airways and lungs. Inhaling water vapor can provide immediate relief and help people breathe more easily.

No.7: Controlled Coughing: Coughing is the body’s natural reflex or defence mechanism to expel toxins trapped in mucus. Controlled coughing loosens excess mucus in the lungs, sending it up through the airways.
You can follow these steps for controlled coughing:

  • sit on a chair upright and relaxed
  • slowly inhale through the nose
  • slowly exhale while leaning forward, pushing the arms against the stomach
  • cough 2 or 3 times while exhaling, keeping the mouth slightly open
  • slowly inhale through the nose
  • rest a while and repeat if necessary.

No. 6: Green Tea: Green tea contains many antioxidants that may help reduce inflammation in the lungs. These compounds may even protect lung tissue from the harmful effects of smoke inhalation.

No.5: Anti-inflammatory foods: Foods that help fight inflammation include turmeric, leafy greens,   cherries, blueberries, olives, walnuts, beans and lentils.

No. 4: Keep your lungs strong with exercise. There is some evidence that cardiovascular exercise — anything that makes your heart beat faster — can help your lungs work better! It also makes the heart and muscles more efficient, so when you do physical activity, there is less demand on the lungs, so you feel better and breathe more easily.

No.3: Prevent Infections: Protect your lungs from further harm by getting flu and pneumonia vaccines. Also, frequently washing your hands, and avoiding contact with anyone who has a sniffly nose or other illness are helpful points to remember.

No.2: Avoid Air Pollution both Indoors and Outdoors: Keep your house clean! Make it a habit to vacuum your home regularly. You can also use Vacuum cleaners with HEPA filters and Even Air Purifiers with HEPA filters to get rid of those toxic carcinogenic gases.
If you are going outdoors, avoid spending time outdoors on days with poor air quality and use good quality pollution masks. You can check air pollution index in your zone using some standard apps on your phone.

No.1: Breathing Exercises: We already discussed how exercise and physical activity can improve our lungs and heart. Taking a step further, Diaphragmatic breathing, also known as “belly breathing,” is an effective technique that can be used to strengthen the diaphragm and increase the oxygen carrying capacity of the lungs.  This technique is performed by taking a deep breath in, almost as if you were attempting to breathe all the way in your stomach. As the inhalation occurs, you will feel the diaphragm contract. Then you can exhale slowly through pursed lips. This create back-pressure in the alveoli which is great for improved lung compliance and detoxifying your lungs.

10 GOOD AND 4 BAD Functions of DHT Hormone (Di-Hydro-Testosterone)

In today’s post we will look into the positive and negative effects or functions of DHT – Dihydrotestosterone in our body.

We have done so many posts and videos on DHT and hair loss and most of you may develop misconceptions that DHT is some evil androgen hormone that serves no purpose in the body but to make our prostates bigger and cause male pattern baldness

Let’s First look into the 10 Positive effects of DHT and lastly the Negative effects. All research article links related to this topic are provided in the description link below.

  1. During Embryogenesis or Foetus development, DHT is needed for sexual differentiation into a male foetus.
  2. During Puberty, DHT is critical to the development of the penis and prostate in men.
  3. After Puberty, DHT is essential for development of male features like body hair, facial hair, pubic hair, muscle growth, and a deep voice.
  4. In Adults, DHT is essential for the development and maintenance of the prostate gland and seminal vesicles and contributes to the volume of semen.
  5. Libido and Erections: Here there are lot of controversies that the primary hormone needed for the drive and erections is testosterone and not DHT. But the fact of the matter is DHT is also important due to its effects on the central nervous system that provides increased neurological efficiency (strength), and increased resistance to psychological and physical stress. Hence we notice depression and loss of libido in a small percentage of patients treated with DHT blockers like finasteride for hair loss.
  6. Blood Sugar Control and Obesity: According to a study, it may lower blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes in males with improved insulin-sensitivity and reduces the body fat and controls obesity.
  7. Improves Memory: A study showed Men between the ages of 34 and 70 showed improvements in memory when treated with DHT skin patches.
  8. Muscles and Bones: Studies have shown that DHT levels correlate with the Muscle Power as well as muscle mass, though the main hormone responsible for muscle and bone development is testosterone. And increased DHT levels are associated with higher bone density in men.
  9. Heart and DHT: Increased levels of DHT were associated with lower amounts of fat deposits in the hearts and coronary arteries of men and hence lesser chance of a coronary artery disease.
  10. Depression and Anxiety: The anti-anxiety effect of DHT and testosterone are due to the actions of DHT on the central nervous system. This is the reason why DHT blockers like finasteride may induce depression in as small percentage of hair loss patients on long term use.

Now let’s List out the Negative or Harmful effects of DHT on our body.

  1. Male Pattern Baldness or Androgenetic Alopecia. Yes as discussed in our previous episodes, its proven that Higher levels of DHT act on the DHT receptors located on hair follicles in scalp and cause miniaturization of the hair follicles and ultimately kills the hair follicle. Of course this depends on the sensitivity of hair follicles on DHT and your genes.
  2. Acne and excessive sebum production is due to increased levels of DHT.
  3. Prostate Enlargement and Cancer: Many studies have proven this. Though DHT is required for the normal development and maintenance of the prostate gland and the seminal vesicles, it’s also responsible for benign enlargement of prostate (BPH) and also prostate cancer.

8 Early Warning Signs of Breast Cancer for Early Treatment

Knowing how your breasts normally look and feel is an important part of breast health. Detecting breast cancer as early as possible gives you a better chance of successful treatment.

Breast cancer is sometimes found after symptoms appear, but many women with breast cancer have no symptoms. This is why regular breast cancer screening also important.

Before listing out don’t forget subscribe to this channel for regular updates

Before we begin, please take a moment to click on the subscribe button along with the bell button to get notified on my new episodes.

Now Lets list out the early and important signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

  1. The most common symptom of breast cancer is a new lump or mass.

A painless, hard and irregular mass is more likely to be cancer. Make it a habit to perform self examination by standing in front of a mirror and gently palpate and feel for any lump. It is important to have any new breast mass, lump, or breast change checked by a health care professional.

  1. Swelling of all or part of a breast (even if no distinct lump or mass is felt)

  1. Skin irritation or dimpling (sometimes looking like an orange peel aka- peau D’orange)

  1. Breast or nipple pain

  1. Nipple retraction (nipple turning inward)

  1. Redness, scaliness, or thickening of the nipple or breast skin

  1. Nipple discharge (other than breast milk)

  1. Swollen lymph nodes under the arm or around the collar bone. Lymph nodes are small glands under your skin that serve special immune function.

Although any of these symptoms can be caused by things other than breast cancer, if you have them, they should be reported to a health care professional so that the cause can be found.

Breast cancer that’s found early, when it’s small and has not spread, is easier to treat successfully.

Getting regular screening tests is the most reliable way to find breast cancer early.

Screening refers to tests and exams used to find a disease in people who don’t have any symptoms.

Prostate Cancer – Masturbation Zinc Testosterone Link

Prostate is one of the most common cancer in men and affects mostly older men. 99 Percent of prostate cancer occur in men over the age of 50. But It can affect people in the age group 30 to 50, but rare. What ever your age is, Please try to carefully understand the tips and concepts in this episode and watch it till the end. This will certainly help in prevention of prostate cancer. Do not take it lightly and this is not a Joke because Prevention is better that Cure!

Now, lets list out 10 very useful causes and Facts and Myths that can cause prostate cancer one by one.

10: Family History & Genetics: If you have someone in your family, I mean blood relation and first degree relation, who suffered from prostate cancer, you are more likely to develop prostate cancer than the general population. But please do not panic, watch this episode till the end, so that you can take some preventive measures and get rid of this risk.

9: Diet: People who eat large amounts of fatty food and low vegetable diet, particularly red meat and other sources of animal fat that’s cooked at high heat. The diet risk factor relationship with prostate cancer is probably hormonal. Fats stimulate increased production of testosterone and other hormones, and testosterone acts to speed the growth of prostate cancer.

Before I list out the other Risk factors and causes, lets try to understand how this prostate cells become cancerous. You all know cancer means uncontrolled multiplication of abnormal cells in your body in simple words. Please watch this section carefully and with patience.

There are two hypothesis on how prostate cancer cells are stimulated at molecular level.
One is the Androgen/Testosterone theory and the other is Zinc Hypothesis. Its not easy to understand these concepts for everyone.  Will try to make it simple.

The ‘androgen hypothesis’ states that prostate cancer development and progression is driven by androgens – that’s male hormone testosterone, and Testosterone Replacement Therapy has the theoretical potential to drive prostate cancer development and progression. In simple words too much testosterone may cause prostate cancer. You know! Surgical Removal of Testes – that’s known as Orchidectomy is one of the treatment steps in Prostate Cancer?

Zinc Hypothesis: The normal prostate cells accumulate zinc to produce citrate which is a common component of semen. Prostate cancer cells do not have zinc. This allows prostate cancer cells to save energy by not making this citrate, and  this extra energy is utilized to grow and spread cancer cells. Its all at genetic level and difficult to understand. But this hypothesis does not prove that taking too much zinc supplements will prevent prostate cancer.

Well, now lets continue with the risk factors and causes.

8: Hypertension: Men with high blood pressure are prone to develop prostate cancer. So for youngsters, please watch out your lifestyle.

7: Lack of Exercise: Also carries a small risk of prostate cancer. So make it a habit to exercise regularly. Atleast 30 minute a day for 5 days a week.

6: Vitamin D: Lower blood levels of vitamin D may increase the risk of developing prostate cancer. So get your vitamin D levels tested atleast once in a year. You know 70 percent of population is deficient in Vitamin D levels. You can watch my detailed video on Vitamin D deficiency signs and symptoms and easy methods of treatment and prevention of this problem.  This video is linked to a card at top right corner and also at end screen and description of this video. You can go there later, but Lets complete this first.

5: Medications: There are some links between prostate cancer and drugs like Statins which lower the cholesterol levels in blood. These drugs decrease prostate cancer risk because testosterone is synthesised from Cholesterol according to our Androgen Hypothesis explained already.

4: Infections: Infection or inflammation of prostate called prostatitis may increase the chance for prostate cancer. This happens by increasing blood flow to the area and increasing the activity of cells. Specially if this infection is from STDs- that’s Sexually Transmitted diseases. So you must know, you have to be careful and use nice preventive measures to prevent these STDs.

3:Cadmium and other Carcinogenic chemical exposure and  in occupational workers like Welders, battery manufacturers, rubber workers are more prone according to some studies.

2: Smoking: is also a risk factor not only for lung cancer, but also prostate cancers.

1: Sexual and other Habits: Infact there is very little evidence that frequent ejaculations can prevent prostate cancer, Its not yet proved that a link exists between prostate cancer and an active sex life or masturbation. Neither any link with vasectomy,  circumcision and most importantly no link between BPH and prostate cancer. For those who do not know, BPH is a common noncancerous condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Most men as they age will experience an enlarged prostate as they age which is called BPH.

Chicken is considered a lean protein with high nutritional value, and eating it regularly will help you stay healthy. But we are concerned about todays chicken and how chickens are raised and fed. Can todays chicken be part of a healthy diet? We will look into the 5 shocking reasons that will compel you to stop eating chicken.

But before that Please take as second to click on the Subscribe button and the bell button, so that you will get notified whenever we add any useful episode.

Lets begin!

Chicken is actually a great protein if its from a trusted source. You will shortly learn what I mean by this by the end of this video.
Well, Checkout the caloric values of chicken: Its just fantastic, specially without the skin, its almost no saturated fat!

With the skin:

Calories: 193

Fat: 8 grams

Saturated Fat: 8 gram

Cholesterol: 82 milligrams

Protein: 29 grams

Without the skin:

Calories: 142

Fat: 3 grams

Saturated Fat: 1 gram

Cholesterol: 73 milligrams

Protein: 27 grams

5: Over 90 percent Chicken Contain Bacteria that can make you Sick! The Bacteria Ecoli and Salmonella are the main concern. There are no tests carried out for these bacteria by any authorities or government bodies.

4: Does not Lower Your Cholesterol. Studies have shown that switching from red meat like beef to chicken has not shown to considerably lower your blood cholesterol or reduce your body fat.

3: Chickens contain cancer-causing chemical arsenic. The FDA(Food and Drug Administration ) has admitted that chicken meat is filled with arsenic, a highly poisonous chemical that is four times more toxic than mercury. Arsenic can lead to invasive squamous carcinoma, Bowen illness, basal cell skin cancer carcinoma, and liver, kidney, lung, and bladder cancer.

2: Fake Meat! No Nutrients Only Proteins:
Chicken now grow for only about 2 to 3 months before they are consumed.
Two decades ago, it used to take one year for them to grown before they were consumed. A decade ago, this period was reduced to 6 months before they were consumed and now presently this growth period is reduced to 2 or 3 months. Shocking! Right ! This means they have accelerated their growth by using some genetic DNA modification methods. You know people do anything to make more money!

1: Antibiotic and Hormone Treated Chicken – Antibiotic Resistance: As Discussed earlier, the chicken are treated with antibiotics in order to make them grow faster. The high usage of antibiotics has led to an increased risk of bacteria developing antibiotic resistance.
The bottom Line: Chicken can still be part of a healthy diet provided you purchase antibiotic and hormone free varieties, preferably from local farmers or other trusted sources. But unfortnunately, factory farming accounts for 99.9 percent of chickens raised for meat.
